First Aid For National Staff
Course length First Aid for National Staff is a classroom based course that lasts for 5 days. Course aim A course based on the internationally recognised Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid at Work syllabus but tailored to suit the requirements of national staff working in an environment where the local medical services may be extremely limited or non-existent.	Theory sessions in a classroom environment are followed by "hands on" practical skill sessions
Who is it for? Local staff with limited medical resources to hand requiring a thorough grounding in first-aid training.	This medic training course in Iraq demonstrates good use of locally available resources and transport
Course Content This course will cover the following topics:
Principles of first aid Patient diagnosis and examination Respiration and asphyxia Cardio pulmonary resuscitation Blood circulation and the heart The control of bleeding and shock Hygiene, minor injuries and foreign bodies Burns, scalds and corrosive injuries Dressings and bandages First Aid Exercise scenarios	Miscellaneous conditions Disorders on consciousness Effects of heat and cold Poisoning Introduction to fractures and dislocations Upper body fractures Lower body fractures Cervical spine injury Animal bites and insect stings Dealing with a road traffic accident
