Course length

This is a five day intensive training course in defensive driving, including learning advanced, defensive and convoy driving.

Course aim

To enable those who need to drive in high-risk situations to learn to do so with confidence and to attain the driving skills necessary to minimise personal risk to themselves.

This is a course designed for people who have to drive in potentially high-risk environments overseas.

Note that this course can be combined with the MASC off road driving course to provide a more comprehensive driving package.

 

Who is it for?

Those who work, and need to drive, in high risk or potentially dangerous environments, and potential targets for ambushing or car-jacking.

Course content

Days 1 -3 are spent out on the road with Police Advanced Driver instructors, learning the techniques and skills of police advanced driving.

Day 4 is spent learning the art of convoy driving and counter vehicle surveillance skills and evasive action techniques.

Day 5 is a day spent learning vehicle anti-ambush drills following the four anti ambush principles of:

• Drive through
• Drive around
• Drive back
• De-buss and get away

The day includes learning evasive vehicle manoeuvres such as J and Y turns and vehicle ramming, and finishes with a vehicle exercise in an urban situation where the student gets to practise advanced driving techniques and anti ambush skills learnt on the course.
