Course length

The duration of the navigation training course is four days and includes both classroom and field based learning.

Course aim

Introduction to the use of a map and compass. Being able to use skills such as judging distance, reading a grid reference, compass back bearings, resection, measuring distance, route cards, time and distance appreciation and navigating at night. An introduction to the use of global positioning systems in the aid of navigation.
